E-School: Online Endodontic Continuing Education for General Dentists

an online course by Board-Certified Endodontist Sonia Chopra, DDS

Everyday Endo Made Easy

Increase Profits, Reduce Chair Time, and Improve Your Patients’ Happiness

Dentists face a lack of endodontic resources.

How much time did your dental school education actually spend on endodontics? If your answer is “not much,” you’re far from alone. With so many topics to cover, the curriculum doesn’t leave much opportunity to explore the topic, and many schools don’t even have an endodontist on faculty.

Unfortunately, this is costing you.

After working hard to establish yourself, build your practice, and achieve top-notch patient outcomes, you’re still losing patients every day.

But by enhancing your endodontics training, you could become more efficient and achieve better outcomes.

And if you believe endodontics is just about root canals, think again. If you’re in the business of diagnosing pain, you’re already doing endo!

And that’s what E-School is designed to help you do.

endo knowledge, and increasing your revenue.

Here’s Who E-School Is For

The General Dentist Who Doesn’t Like Endo

Your practice is already busy enough. What incentive do you have to add endodontics to your workload?

Here’s a secret: you’re already practicing it! Endo doesn’t stop with root canals. It’s also the practice of diagnosing pain. Why not improve your capabilities even more?

E-School is designed to suit your busy schedule, so you can continue to give your patients the very best care possible.

The General Dentist With Their Own Practice

You’re proud of your practice, because it’s focused on patient care.

And yet you find yourself referring out endo cases more often than necessary. You’d like to improve your skills so you could boost your revenue and serve your patients even more fully.

Say goodbye to retreatments and hello to more income when you learn from E-School.

The Associate Who’s On The Rise

You’ve got ambition to own your own practice, and right now, you love challenging cases that keep your knowledge and skills sharp.

But you’re realizing your training didn’t fully prepare you for the complexity and surprises of real-life cases.

In E-School, you’ll build your confidence with endodontic skills and build up your peer network with other driven dentists.

The Recent Dental School Graduate

The DDS diploma is hanging on the wall, and you’re about ready to see patients daily.

The only thing standing in the way is the job hunt. And you have to admit you’re a little nervous about putting your new knowledge into practice. You’d like to feel more prepared.

Supplement your resume with E-School to enhance your learning and boost your chances against the competition.

The Dentist Who Loves Learning

Even with a thriving practice and years of experience, there are some tough cases that still leave you scratching your head.

You pride yourself on your skills and knowledge, and you know continuing education in endo could help you round out your abilities.

In E-School, you’ll learn from an endodontist who’s seen everything, and the resources will boost your skills and profitability.

E-School Is a Good Fit for You If You

Are eager to learn more about endodontics.
Love learning and are open to new perspectives.
Describe yourself as a “self-starter” and “hard worker.”
Want to improve outcomes for your patients.
Desire more confidence in endo.
Seek to boost your profits and your career.

Here’s Who E-School Is Not For

E-School can make a significant difference in the clinical outcomes, efficiency, and confidence of any general dentist. However, it’s not for everyone.

This program is NOT a good fit for you if you:

Need one-on-one attention. You will get support from me in a virtual group setting through E-School with Coaching. E-School LIVE is an in-person, small-group experience (up to 5 dentists at a time) for hands-on, live patient CE. Note: You must take E-School with Coaching before you are eligible for E-School LIVE so I can make sure all participants are fully prepared. E-School Independent is DIY and go-at-your-own-pace. None of the options include one-on-one coaching.

Are unwilling to trust the process. E-School’s curriculum has been put together in a specific order with considerable thought, care, and planning. It’s easy to get excited about future modules (and I hope you do!), but if you are impatient and unwilling to trust the E-School process, you’ll miss important details. As a result, you’ll find yourself confused, since you’ll lack useful information and context.

Already know it all. Endo tips and tricks can be subtle, and E-School seeks to make sure the concepts really sink in. Regardless of what career stage you’re in or how long you’ve been doing root canals, you can learn something important in E-School. But if you believe you already know everything there is to know about endo, you won’t be paying full attention to the modules, and you’ll miss the invaluable pearls of wisdom you can gain from this course. The reason E-School alumni are successful is because they approach the course with an attitude of openness and an eagerness to learn, regardless of their endodontic experience beforehand.

Want to focus only on the business of dentistry, not on clinical improvement. While we do discuss business efficiencies and strategies for financial success within E-School with Coaching and E-School LIVE, the primary focus of E-School is the clinical side of endodontics.

Want to breeze through and earn some quick CE. Endo is all about the details… and you’re going to miss all those details if you rush through the materials. You have lifetime access to the curriculum because I want you to go through these lessons again and again, and really let it sink in as you implement. Don’t rush it; take it slow, and you’ll be more successful in the long run.

Testimonials from E-School Students

Who teaches E-School?

I’m Sonia Chopra, DDS, practicing Board-Certified endodontist… and I’m on a mission to help you improve your confidence with endodontics — and your patients’ experience.

Born without eight teeth and no stranger to cavities, implants, and bridges, I was always meant to become a dentist. But it wasn’t until an endodontist finally relieved me of a months-long infection through a root canal that I understood the importance of saving teeth.

The power to keep your patients healthy and happy — and out of such agony — lies within you and your commitment to deepening your understanding of endodontics.

Targeted curriculum designed to complement your busy life.

E-School features 6 comprehensive modules (+2 bonus modules) you can access from any device at any time. Each module contains detailed videos, tutorials, action sheets, and templates to make implementation easy.

Every module is streamable online, and you’ll be able to watch all content at your own pace, unlike pricy in-person trainings that are all too easy to forget a few months later. Plus, if you choose the option with coaching, you’ll have access to the private E-School community for 8 weeks to support you as you build your skills.

All modules have been selected to answer your top questions, debunk misconceptions of general dentists, provide tips or tricks that will make a big difference. In addition, you’ll get bonus modules to round out your continuing education.

When you join E-School with Coaching (only available for a limited time — enroll by January 29, 2023), you get 8 weeks of personalized group coaching PLUS lifetime access to the course materials, so you can revisit them any time.
This is your last chance to get endodontic coaching from Dr. Chopra until September, 2023!

What’s Inside?

Click on each module for more details.

Module 1: Diagnosis

Before you can treat, refer, or make recommendations, every case starts with a diagnosis. This module will help you tweak your current diagnostic protocol to make the best decisions for your patients.

You’ll learn:

  • Improved diagnostic protocol you can use on every new or emergency patient — starting now.
  • The number one most important step to achieving a proper diagnosis.
  • How making the right diagnosis (and understanding it) shapes your treatment process.
  • How your interpretation of tests can make or break your diagnosis — and the valuable tests you may be forgetting.
  • How to break down your patients’ diagnosis to help them understand what’s happening inside their mouth (and why this matters for your bottom line).
Module 2: Pain Management & Antibiotics

Ask any patient what makes for a great dentist. They won’t think about your degrees, certifications, or even prices. Instead, they’ll judge you by your ability to keep them relatively pain-free and ensure successful outcomes. That’s why this module is so vital to your reputation, your relationship with your patients, and the success of your practice.

You’ll learn:

  • The number one key to proper pain management, so you can keep your patients happy.
  • The different types of pain and how listening to your patients will help you identify how to proceed.
  • When to give antibiotics and/or pain medication, and when not to, so you always prescribe the correct treatment.
  • Which anesthetic techniques will ensure great patient reviews and make root canals easy for everyone.
  • How to ensure an easier postoperative recovery for your patients so they’re pleasantly surprised by how well their procedures go.
  • What to tell patients what to expect after a root canal and how to anticipate their symptoms, so you become their trusted tooth guru.
Module 3: Access, Instrumentation, Irrigation and Obturation

It’s back to the basics, but with an experienced, real-world spin. By revisiting your understanding of root canal anatomy, methods of access, instrumentation, methods of obturation, and expert obturation techniques, you’ll further improve your outcomes in no time.

You’ll learn:

  • The two cardinal rules of root canals you may not be following.
  • What to do to give you that pretty x-ray, which is often how your colleagues will judge your success.
  • How instrumentation methods can make or break a case, to help you achieve better outcomes.
  • What’s even more important than instrumentation, so you know what to focus on.
  • How to troubleshoot your obturation techniques to help you figure out how you can improve.
  • How anatomy may impact your root canals to give you a better idea of what to watch out for with your patients.
Module 4: Cracked Teeth and Vertical Root Fractures

Even with all your careful diagnostic work, cracked teeth can really change the game. They can be difficult to spot, and they can make it difficult for patients to pinpoint the source of their pain. However, they can almost always be saved — whereas vertical root fractures cannot.

You’ll learn:

  • Why cracks create problems and what causes them, so you properly diagnose your patients.
  • Clues that a tooth is actually cracked, helping you give your patients the right diagnosis the first time before you unnecessarily condemn their tooth to be extracted.
  • The exact protocol to use for patients where a crack with reversible pulpitis is suspected, removing the guesswork.
  • How to let your CBCT guide you into making the right diagnosis.
  • How to get reimbursed when you’ve spent considerable time on a tooth only to discover it has to be extracted.
Module 5: Trauma and Resorption

Trauma doesn’t come along everyday, which means it can be easy to forget exactly how to handle it. When you know these important steps and guidelines, you’ll be better equipped to handle trauma and resorption cases and feel confident in the steps you and your patients should take.

You’ll learn:

  • Expert endo secrets to managing all the different types of trauma, so you know what to do in every situation.
  • What to expect (for you and your patient) after trauma, to make sure your patients feel comfortable, heard, and understood.
  • The number one rule in splinting, so you splint like an expert and gain an optimal prognosis for your patients.
  • They key for success in all trauma and resorption cases, to shoot your outcomes through the roof.
Module 6: CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)

Because CBCT is anything but plug-and-play, it has a steep learning curve and is often neglected as a valuable tool in the dentist’s arsenal. However, with some practice and a deeper understanding of this technology, you’ll see that it’s truly a gamechanger for your practice and your patients.

You’ll learn:

  • The endodontic applications of CBCT, including diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up.
  • How understanding CBCT can improve outcomes and make you a more confident practitioner.
  • Quick and easy steps to increase your confidence with CBCT — it doesn’t take much!
  • How to leverage CBCT to discover the true cause of root canal failures so you know how to proceed.

Bonus content

Bonus 1: Internal Bleaching

After a trauma, teeth can discolor as they heal. This can be the result of an improperly performed root canal or the trauma, itself — but internal bleaching can be used to restore the tooth’s natural color.

You’ll learn:

  • How to prevent discoloration after a root canal in the first place.
  • When you should and should not recommend internal bleaching, so you make the best decisions with your patients.
  • How to perform internal bleaching, step-by-step, and avoid its potential dangers.
  • The exact products you’ll need to get the job done right, to save your hours of research time
  • How to get reimbursed for this procedure and increase the profitability of your practice.
Bonus 2: MTA Vital Pulp Therapy

MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) Vital Pulp Therapy is the easiest, most effective way to directly pulp cap a tooth, and is a fantastic modality to employ to get better results while saving time and money.

You’ll learn:

  • What MTA is and why it’s so great.
  • When you should and shouldn’t use MTA, so you know when to apply this knowledge.
  • The exact, step-by-step guide to using MTA, including t

Frequently Asked Questions

When’s the next session of E-School?

E-School with Coaching is offered once or twice a year and lasts for 8 weeks, with weekly coaching calls and access to the private Facebook community. Enrollment is offered in January and September.

Where does E-School take place?

On your computer or the device of your choice (like a tablet at lunch, or your phone on the treadmill).

E-School LIVE is an in-person event only open to E-School graduates that takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How do we make the virtual course hands-on?

While the E-School lessons are web-based videos and downloadable tip sheets, there is still a way to add tangible learning to the course. I recommend you collect extracted teeth and utilize the tactics I teach there, before you take your shiny new education to your patients. When you join E-School with Coaching, I can help you troubleshoot virtually in our weekly coaching calls.

What’s more, when you have completed E-School, you will be eligible to attend E-School LIVE, a live patient, hands-on 3-day training with a small group of your colleagues and me.

How much time do I need to commit?

E-School is made up of nearly 30 video lessons over 8 modules. You can move as fast or slow through the course as you like, since you have lifetime access. It is up to you whether you commit 1 hour a week or 3 hours a day to study the lessons and resources. There are approximately 10 hours of videos included in the curriculum. I do recommend going through the program twice to make sure you absorbed it all.

What if I don't like doing root canals?

I understand; a lot of general dentists don’t, and that’s part of why I created this course. You may discover you’re more interested in RCT than ever before when you join E-School.

However, you may find, during E-School, that you DON’T want to do root canals, and that’s okay, too!

First of all, only 1 of the 8 modules is about root canal therapy. The others are about topics like diagnosis, antibiotics, CBCT, and more  and are helpful for any dentist! Endo is about SO much more than root canals.

Second of all, think about how much chair time, equipment costs, and retreatment costs you’ll save if you decide your limits and stick to them! The course will pay for itself in no time.

What about topics that aren't included in the curriculum?

By joining E-School with Coaching, you can get all your questions answered. Together, we can dive into clinical topics like apicoectomies and retreatments. We can even cover business topics like efficiency and billing. This is one of the unique benefits of E-School with Coaching, which is open for enrollment only one to two times a year.

What's in the #EndoRocks Box? Do you really ship it to me, no matter where I live?

The #EndoRocks Box is one of my favorite goodies in the E-School with Coaching program (not available for E-School Independent).

Inside, you’ll get my favorite endo files, tools, and products to help you streamline your procedures. We’ll discuss the items within the course so you can give them a shot.

The #EndoRocks Box can be shipped anywhere in the world, but shipping to addresses outside the USA and Canada is $50 USD and is the responsibility of the recipient, as are any taxes or duties levied by the receiving country. Recipients may opt out of receiving an #EndoRocks Box.

See what one student thought of the Box:

Will this course work for me if I’m outside of North America?

Yes! Dentistry is universal, and GOOD endodontics can be applied anywhere in the world!

Can my team and I take E-School together?

We encourage you to share some of these lessons and download tip sheets with your dental team, but your enrollment is for a single user. Continuing education credits and access into the private Facebook group are only given to the enrolled member of E-School.

If you are an administrator or instructor at a dental school, please reach out to me directly at support@soniachopradds.com about purchasing an E-School license for your dental students.

Do I get CE credit for this course?

Yes, when you complete the E-School curriculum and the final assessment in the course, you will get 10 CE credits. If you join E-School with Coaching, for every coaching call you attend, you can earn 1 additional CE credit for a total of up to 26 total credits for the course. Be sure to input your AGD number as the final step so you can be sure to have the credits applied to you!

If you go on to participate in E-School LIVE, you can earn 30 CE credits over the course of this 4-day live, hands-on event.

Do you offer scholarships to E-School?

I do not currently offer scholarships to E-School, but giving back to the community is important to me. My current give-back efforts include providing free dental care to my local Charlotte, North Carolina community through E-School LIVE, free educational blogs for dentists, and periodic free CE webinars for dentists. Announcements about CE and blog content are made on my Instagram account (@soniachopradds) and email list (visit soniachopradds.com and click “subscribe”), so be sure to follow me and sign up.

How do I communicate with you during the course?
If you are enrolled in the E-School session with Coaching, questions should be posted in a private Facebook group and they’ll be answered there on a weekly basis or in Office Hours web calls.

If you have a technical question, regardless of which version of E-School you purchase, you can email my support team at support@soniachopradds.com and they’ll help you address your concern.

What if I have another question not listed here?

You can email support@soniachopradds.com.
