In this free, virtual training, you will…

Learn the most common causes of misdiagnosis in dentistry (and how to avoid them).

Discuss the impact of accurate diagnoses in your practice and in the life and health of your patients.

Review cases where misdiagnosis has occurred, the implications, and how to set things right when it happens.
What is the impact of a misdiagnosis?
Let’s be honest: misdiagnosis happens across the entire medical field. Every dentist is human, and no human is perfect. But that doesn’t make misdiagnosis okay. You’re committed to doing right by your patients and avoiding as many missteps as possible. That’s why you clicked on this page!
Why do misdiagnoses happen? There’s a bunch of reasons, but sometimes our tunnel vision is what gets in the way.
Tunnel vision means falling into mindless routines, leaning on assumptions, and failing to consider the whole range of possibilities. Tunnel vision happens when we get too comfortable and stop thinking critically.
The problem is, tunnel vision negatively impacts our practice and our patients. Because after all, proper care starts with proper diagnosis. And the diagnoses that happen in our offices can save teeth and save lives (because life threatening illnesses like leukemia, HIV, and heart disease can all be glimpsed first by dentists).
This training by my colleague, the super-smart periodontist Dr. Bhide, is all about avoiding tunnel vision, reducing misdiagnosis, and improving the health of our patients. I’m thrilled to present this CE lecture, because I believe perio and endo go together like PB&J!
